The voLANte™ Family of Products

voLANte from SVSi delivers the industry leading solution for distributing high-definition multimedia across your network. voLANte is ideal for applications ranging from simple A/V extension to digital signage and fully managed multimedia over IP systems.

Live HD video distribution is easy using voLANte. Utilizing JPEG2000 compression, live content may be streamed across the network with visually lossless quality, extremely low latency, and excellent error handling. Multiple channels of live video and content from sources such as media players, PCs, satellite receivers, etc. can be distributed over a single network to an unlimited number of displays. Point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, and daisy-chained network configurations are supported.

voLANte transmits multimedia content in IP packets over standard Ethernet/Fiber networks. The advantages are numerous and significant: digital transmission maintains content quality from source to every display; low-cost standard data cabling may be used; distance extension is unlimited using basic network switches; installation and expansion is as simple as adding PCs to a network; and when bandwidth is available, existing data networks may be utilized for video as well.

voLANte network distributed video systems can be fully managed with Conductor management software. Featuring an intuitive graphical user interface, Conductor enables powerful control over the multiple content distribution modes that allow live and stored content to be played on demand, by programmed schedule, or even in an emergency interrupt mode.

Video Over Ethernet Made Easy

Deploy the SVSi voLANte high-definition digital video LAN as the backbone of your digital signage network and experience true "plug-and-play" digital signage. The voLANte LAN sends video over ethernet protocol. It's easy to install and it's flexible enough to let you distribute video content that's simple or sophisticated, but always HD digital, and all controlled from your PC.

Whether you're narrowcasting dynamic digital content or playing local slideshows (or a combination of the two), the SVSi voLANte system preserves the digital nature of the media from source to display. This means you get unrivaled, high-definition image quality — all distributed over common CATX cable.

  • Easy to install and easy to maintain by IT staffs, the voLANte network can interconnect with other networking and ethernet devices. This makes it easy to expand with additional displays.
  • Since the voLANte system takes any digital content or input (content from PCs, HDMI [DVDs, satellite feeds, etc.], digital video cameras, etc.) for transmission, there's no special encoding or file manipulation. What you see is what you get.
  • It's also easy to manage with Conductor management and scheduling software. Drag-and-drop your content into Conductor, pick the displays, set the times, and you're up-and-running.
  • And, last but not least, there's EMCast™ emergency messaging which gives you the ability to commandeer the network to display time-sensitive messages.

Four Flexible Narrowcast Options with the voLANte digital video LAN

The SVSi voLANte digital video LAN offers the flexibility of four different playback modes: LivePlay™, LocalPlay™, HostPlay™, and EMCast™ — just mix-and-match modes to get the perfect combination of content.

Narrowcasting with LivePlay

LivePlay lets you stream content from digital media sources directly to any display on the network. With LivePlay, you can narrowcast any digital media such as Flash, PowerPoint, photography and text. LivePlay also lets you stream up to six channels of full-motion video, live camera feeds, and any HDMI-compatible source (such as cable or satellite feeds) without losing synchronicity between video and audio — or between screens. You can even schedule LivePlay content with other modes via voLANte Conductor.

Never a Blank Screen

LocalPlay and HostPlay are playback modes for content stored locally on the receiver (LocalPlay) or on the "host" transmitter (HostPlay). LocalPlay takes over when the network goes down. HostPlay transmits stored content if you lose input from your source.

Compatible Formats

You can also use LocalPlay and HostPlay for scheduled times or intervals during LivePlay. For example: you could make announcements at the top and bottom of the hour, or run advertisements every 15 minutes. The possibilities are endless. Just schedule through voLANte Conductor software.

You can store small slide shows or even flip book type animations and audio tracks on the transmitters and receivers. Just upload the files from the source to the the receiver(s) and/or transmitter(s) via the voLANte Conductor software application.

Send Out Non-scheduled Messages — Fast!

Whether it's an emergency or a benign announcement, informational messages (including audio) can be instantly transmitted to all displays connected to the voLANte network with EMCast mode, overriding any other mode that's in play.

You can either immediately transmit pre-stored AV content or commandeer the network for direct input to all receivers. You can do this from any access point on the network - whether from the host PC or from a network-attached PC. Password protection safeguards against unauthorized use.

What else can you do with voLANte?

Any common IT task can be accomplished over voLANte including network storage, streaming live video for security or training, remote updates or backups, integration of file or print servers, encryption, or WAN access.
